Shot o' the Week is the entrance to the shell of what was once a bustling business of some sort.
This shot is of a padlocked and gated door on the same building. While I love the above shots because of the naturally desaturated tones and textures, these got me because of the disconcertingly jaunty tone of RED...and the fact the wall on the left (which you can't see) is down.
And again with the vertical, because I HATE rules, man....
This small building - same shade of disconcertingly jaunty RED, though more faded - houses a small weigh station for pricing scrap metal. While there were several interesting items inside as well, the light didn't cooperate. So until I can get back later for interior shots:
And what is this? Some sort of Guard Tree?

And finally, a small group of deer on the outskirts. I shot 'em with the 50mm as my big zoom is in the shop.
Well, before I even get to the photography, I need to say that I absolutely love the titles and such. "Of Devils and Details," "Lovely, Dark, Deep & Cautionary" -- brownie points for bringing some clever wit!
ReplyDeleteI've only looked at this post so far, and what I can tell you is it inspires me. Last year I really lost the "anywhere, everywhere, everything" aspect to my photography, and this year I'm trying to get it back. You seem to have found a really interesting spot, and you've captured all of it's quirky and interesting details. I really like it.
I'm heading out for a bit, but will be back to look further in an hour or two.
Cheers!

Thanks, Katya. Photography and writing are two of my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to train my mind to "see" photographically so I find a shot that might go uncaptured otherwise. I think my favorite compliment is when people tell me they love a shot and never would have thought of taking that picture.
